The studio gets beautiful natural light all day however as it faces west, the most stunning light is in the afternoon as the sun sets. For best natural lighting, we recommend booking from midday onwards. Please note that lighting conditions can vary depending on the weather and the type of camera you are using.

Sunset Disco is located just 3.5km from Melbourne’s CBD, within in the creative hub of Richmond. We are 100m from the closest tram stop and 800m from Richmond train station.

Every booking includes one off-street car park for the duration of your shoot. An additional off-street car park can be organised on request for $25+GST. Street parking is also available or there is street parking on Swan Street and neighbouring streets, just be mindful of inspectors and clearways.

Yes, our studio doubles as an event space for hire in Melbourne, accomodating up to 70 people. Whether it’s a pop-up, workshop, product launch or private party, Sunset Disco is the perfect blank canvas for your event.

All furniture and props are included in every hire at our photography studio in Melbourne, as well as 5G wifi, a garment steamer, clothing rack, kitchenette and bathroom. You’ll have everything you need for a seamless photoshoot or event.

We’re a 100% natural light studio and do not provide lighting equipment, however you’re welcome to bring your own. Our space is designed to complement natural light for professional, aesthetic results.

When hiring the studio, you’re hiring the studio itself. We do however offer content creation and creative direction to help bring your vision to life.

If you need extra time for your booking, please let us know as soon as possible. Whilst we often have back-to back bookings, we’ll always do our best to accomodate extra time where possible.
